DEAN'S WELCOME TO SACRED HEART JUNIOR COLLEGE Dear Sacred Heart Junior College Students, It is indeed an honor for me to welcome you to SHC-JC. Congratulations on making the wise and bold decision to further your studies and especially for choosing SHC-JC as your first choice to fulfill your dreams. You are among the few Belizeans who have this great opportunity called `tertiary education' and I am certain that you will make the most use of your time with us. Despite the global economic challenges ahead, I'm very confident that SHC-JC will prosper and provide you with a quality education. Over the past few years my administration, faculty and staff have been working really hard to improve our programs, facilities and systems. This year will be a great year as we embark on the challenge of possibly creating our own campus, adding numerous programs such as the certified BTB Tour Guiding certificate, associate degrees in Chemistry, English and History, and possibly Applied Mathematics and of course, improving the current programs. However, we cannot work alone; we need your help. This year we intend to improve student life at SHJC and you will play a key role in achieving this goal. I ask that you participate as much as possible with student services activities including sports, seminars, fund-raising and most especially community service. Most of all I beg you to study hard. Your success means our success so being academically successful must be your most important goal. However, don't forget that serving your community is what will make you an outstanding person.
