Course Description
CHEM1101 is a 4-credit course designed for students majoring in chemistry and encompasses the fundamental principles that pertains to all branches of the chemistry: Organic, Inorganic, Analytical and Biochemistry. It provides student with a knowledge of the principles of general chemistry with an emphasis on laws and theories of chemistry; states of matter; atomic structure and theory; the periodic table and periodicity; chemical bonding, molecular structures and intermolecular forces; nomenclature of chemical compounds; chemical reactions and equations; mole concept; stoichiometry; solutions, acids, bases, and salts; and gas laws.
