General Chemistry I

Course Description

CHEM1011 is a 4-credit course design for students planning a profession in a science related field and introduces the fundamental principles of chemistry. In particular, this course will focus on fundamental principles; laws and theories of general chemistry; states of matter; atomic structure and theory; the periodic table and periodicity; chemical bonding, molecular structures and intermolecular forces; nomenclature of chemical compounds; chemical reactions and equations; mole concept; stoichiometry; acids, bases, and salts; and gas laws.
