If you would like to study at Sacred Hear Junior College in the heart of the San Ignacio Town, that focuses on changing the world for better tomorrow, you’re choosing the right place. We do not use special formulas to select students. We look at every single applicant’s application, academic and personal, to select students who suit to our community with a full range of backgrounds.

Things To Know First

The admission application is required for students applying to SHJC. You’ll be able to choose the programs that you are interested in.

You will need :

  • High School graduates, transfer, returning and transient students must submit complete applications.
  • Prospective graduates will submit the copy of their diploma and official transcript as soon as they graduate.
  • Application fee is $25 BZD. Late application fee is an additional $20 BZD.
  • Deadlines to apply are shown beside.
  • The application form must be filled out completely. Each section is important for our records.
  • At least two contact numbers should be provided.
  • An active email address should be provided. Information is sent to your personal email address until you activate your school email.
  • All high school graduates are asked to sit a placement test in English, Mathematics and Spanish. Placement test are $10 BZD each, non-refundable.
  • Incomplete applications will take longer to process.
  • Please read your acceptance letter carefully and follow all the instructions; should you have any questions, kindly email Registrar.

What to do after being accepted?

  • You need to follow the instructions on how to activate your school email.
  • You need to be vigilant of the placement test date and confirmation date. See Calendar.
  • Before taking placement tests, you need to pay for tests which are $10 each.
  • Placement test results, program of choice sequence, and estimate sheet will be sent to your school email approximately two weeks after taking placement tests.
  • You can only take the placement test once.
  • An active email address should be provided. Information is sent to your personal email address until you activate your school email.
  • If you pass the placement test, you will be exempted from Pre-College English, Pre-College Mathematics, and Pre-College Spanish.

The Application Process

  • Step 1

    Download Forms

    The admission forms include  the Admissions Application form, Insurance Beneficiary form, and Recommendation form.

  • Step 2

    Fill in forms

    The forms are all fillable and in PDF format. So it can easily filled in, just type on the fields.

  • Step 3

    Gather necessary documents

    Along with the admissions forms, you also need to attach a copy of your Transcript, Diploma and Social Security Card.

  • Step 4

    Submit forms

    You have options for submitting application package, either mail them, drop them at the office or email them to Admissions. You need to pay for your application fee of $25 BZD. Attach your payment slip if you payed at the Bank.

  • Step 5

    Confirmation Email

    After submitting your application, it takes about one week for you to receive an email notifying if you have been accepted.

Pre-College Courses

Professional Core Courses

  • These are typically only offered once per year.
  • Semester 1 Professional core courses are only offered during Semester 1 of every academic year, the same goes for semester 2 courses.
  • Student are advised to follow their program sequence to ensure they can complete their programs in a timely and organized manner.

Understanding Pre-requisites and Corequisites

  • Pre-requisite Courses: is a course or other requirement that a student must have taken prior to enrolling in a specific course or program.
  • Corequisite Course: is a course or other requirement that a student must take at the same time as another course or requirement.
