Course Description:

This course is designed to introduce the basic principles and methods of Probability and Statistics including descriptive statistics, probability and probability distributions and statistical inference. A formal introduction to the definition of statistics is given which leads into the introduction of statistical concepts, covering elementary aspects of data representation and modeling, and introductory statistical inference that will be required for research or surveys. Under Probability, the concepts of random variables, expectations, variances and its applications will be studied. This will lead into Discrete Probability Distributions and Normal Probability Distributions and conclude with Hypothesis Testing.
