Science Concepts & Methods for the Primary Grades

Course Description

Science Concepts and Methods for the Primary Classroom engages student teachers to explore how children learn science and the importance of science for life-long learning. It is intended to provide student teachers with learning experiences that will enable them to: 

• Select appropriate science methods to address concepts at various levels;
• Use hands-on, minds-on, investigations to promote development of skills, scientific knowledge, and design environments that promote positive attitudes towards science.

This course will provide student teachers with skills and methodologies to effectively achieve the intended learning outcomes of the Primary School Science Curriculum.
