Course Description

This course aims to provide student teachers with current methodologies to teach the Spanish language in the primary school setting using a communicative approach. The task-based learning approach will be also analyzed and revised in order to provide student teachers with the necessary resources and didactical support (materials, strategies, assessment, and techniques) to teach Spanish within the multilingual and multiethnic context of Belizean society. Classes will focus on applying the methodological approaches to the teaching of Spanish language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing as well as socio-cultural issues), while incorporating technological teaching resources.
