Tour Guiding

Course Description

TOUR 2011 provides material on six content areas, each focusing on a different aspect of the knowledge and skills needed to become a successful tour guide. Students cover topics such as The Effective Tour Guide, Belize Today, Natural History, Cultures, World of the Maya, and Swimming.  Exercises are included that allow and encourage students to practice knowledge and skills as they are learned. The tour guiding course allows students to successfully communicate in a variety of fields in the tourism industry, not just for tour guiding.  TOUR 2011 is also a pre-requisite for TOUR 2302 (Adventure and Eco-tourism).
