Course Description
Waste Management is designed for Natural Resource Management (NRM) students. This course investigates waste stream management, recovery, and general topics associated with integrated waste management. Students are introduced to and practice waste auditing and accounting. This course considers waste at both the individual household level, and the community and global levels. Types of waste to be discussed include solid waste, sewage, air pollution, industrial waste and agricultural waste. Students enrolled in this class undertake practical projects linked to improving waste management strategy in Sacred Heart College campus and in the community. Fieldwork is required for this course.
