The Certificate in Primary Education offers pedagogical training for primary school teachers who have either an Associate or a Bachelor's degree in an area other than education. It is designed to meet a particular teacher training need for a specific group of teachers. The duration of the certificate program is one and a half years or five semesters inclusive of summers. Benefits include improving the performance and educational experience of teachers, eligibility for a full teaching license at the primary level upon completion and remuneration to Gob Teachers' Pay scale 9.
To be admitted into the Certificate in Primary Education, teachers must have either an Associate or a Bachelor's degree in an area other than Education and they need to have been practicing primary school teachers for at least one year (corroborated with a letter of recommendation from the applicants' general managers).
